Crystalline Glazed Porcelain
N.B. I maintain these
pages when I have time. I am not an artist, I am a collector, and I have
no other expertise in this area. I bought my first crystalline
glazed piece from Tim Marcotte at an East Lansing art fair in the early
1970s (if I remember correctly). I still have it; it has survived ten
inquisitive, art loving felines and lives with three more. I now have
about 250 crystalline glazed pieces by more than eighty artists, not all
of whom I have been able to identify. I discovered a while ago that nearly
every crystalline artist I met thought that he or she was only one of a
handful of people using the glaze, if even that many. I'm happy to see
that word has spread and that many of you are now talking to one another
and sharing your ideas and work. I think fairly soon you won't need these
pages any longer and I'll just go back to admiring the pieces I have and
adding a few a year. Meanwhile, I rely on the willingness of artists and
knowledgeable others to send in information to update these pages. If you
find a broken link, please send me a nice note to that effect.
