The infamous Dreyfus affair (Chicago: Dist. by FilmRoos, 1997).

One videocassette, 59 minutes. Originally broadcast on Oct. 15, 1997 as episode #H111 of the television program, In search of history. Cataloger’s summary:  In 1894 Alfred Dreyfus, a young French officer and Jew was sentenced to lifelong imprisonment and public degradation. He was accused of giving away military secrets to Germany. He was tried and convicted because of the racist view of the French, at the time, towards Jews. He was later vindicated, after serving time at the Devil's Island penal colony. Historians discuss the trial and imprisonment as well as the racist atmosphere of France at the time.
