LAW, POLITICS AND POPULAR CULTURE: RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN THE SEXES
One of the most popular topics in literature and film is, of course, the "war" between the sexes. From the serious questions of domestic violence portrayed in the television flm The Burning Bed to the humor of Adam's Rib and You've Got Mail, human relationships come under constant and intense scrutiny. Comics such as Blondie and television series such as Mad About You, Step by Step, Married...With Children, Home Improvement show more humorous though not necessarily trivial problems between wives and husbands. The current television program Will & Grace examines the possibility of friendship between a man and woman, a possibility which Harry (Billy Crystal) of When Harry Met Sally dismisses in a very funny scene.
